COVID testing mandatory for passengers at Bhubaneswar airport

Bhubaneswar: In view of huge spike in daily COVID-19 cases, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today issued fresh guidelines for air passengers coming to the city.

As per the fresh guidelines, the COVID testing is mandatory for all travelers deboarding at Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar, with effect from January 7, 2022 till further order.

All the passengers coming from other states and countries will undergo RT-PCR test at the testing facility provided by the BMC. Bhubaneswar airport to detect COVID-19 cases.

Even the RT-PCR test will be conducted on air passengers having received double doses of COVID vaccine or in possession of RT-PCR negative report.

The travelers whose destination is Bhubaneswar shall have to isolate himself/herself at home till the RT-PCR test result is communicated to him/her by the BMC. In case, the passenger tests positive for COVID-19, usual protocol for positive cases will be followed.

The Director of BPIA will facilitate the BMC in installing the testing facility and ensure adherence of the COVID guidelines strictly.
