COVID vaccination in Odisha to continue during lockdown

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today announced lockdown in the state from May 5 to 5 am of May 19 in view of the second wave of COVID-19. However, COVID-19 vaccination across the state will continue during the period.

“During this period, subject to availability, vaccination shall continue in places as notified by the Health Department from time to time. Eligible persons shall travel to the Covid Vaccination Centres (CVCs) on their own. Such person(s) shall be allowed to travel to the designated CVCs in their vehicles/taxis/ auto-rickshaws by following guidelines. Health Department/District Collectors/ Municipal Commissioners may facilitate alternative ways through Call Centres/IT solutions to ensure that such persons smoothly travel to and from the CVCs,” an official notification of the state government said.

“Persons desirous of/required to undertake testing for Covid-19 shall be allowed to travel to designated Government/Private Covid-19 Testing Centres in their vehicles/taxis/auto-rickshaws by following guidelines to that effect,” the notification added.
