Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 vaccination has been suspended in 10 districts today due to shortage of vaccines.

There will be no vaccination programme in Balasore, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kalahandi, Kendrapara, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nayagarh, Nuapada and Sonepur on Saturday. The inoculation will continue at 308 session sites today, informed the State Health & Family Welfare Department.

Currently, 59,920 doses of Covishield and 3,93,010 doses of Covaxin vaccines are in stock in Odisha.

Yesterday, 1.73 lakh doses of Covaxin have reached Odisha for vaccination in Bhubaneswar city and Ganjam district. The State will receive 3.15 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine on July 15.

On Friday, as many as 93,334 beneficiaries of 18-44 and 45+ age groups have been vaccinated at 545 session sites in Odisha. While 41,636 beneficiaries of 18-44 age groups have received their first dose of vaccines, 3,421 persons were given second shot yesterday. Similarly, 11,673 persons above 45 years were given the first dose and 35,842 beneficiaries of the age group received the second jab yesterday.

So far, 1,32,72,638 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in Odisha.
