Covishield: 12-16 weeks gap between two doses, recommends govt panel

New Delhi: The National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI) has recommended the Government for increasing gap between two doses of Covishield (COVID-19 vaccine) to 12-16 weeks, reported PTI quoting sources.

The gap between two doses of Covaxin will remain unchanged, it said.

Pregnant women may be offered choice to take any COVID-19 vaccine while lactating women should be made eligible for jabs any time after delivery, the panel recommended.

It further recommended that those testing positive for COVID-19 should defer vaccination for six months after recovery.
