Helpline number released to curb cyber crimes in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: In view of rising number of cyber crimes in Bhubaneswar, the Commissionerate Police today released a helpline number for the capital city people against cyber fraudsters.

The Cyber Fraud Sahayata Desk with cell No. 7440006709  was launched to provide 4 types of services to victims.

The Cyber Fraud Sahayata Desk will help the victims to block the fraud cell number, to track the involved money trail and to freeze the last destination account, to help blocking/deleting fake calls and URL from the Search Engine and to help blocking repeated harassing/strange numbers.

Moreover, the senior citizens will be facilitated for lodging complaints at doorstep after making a call on the above given number. The aggrieved persons may give a rink and take advantage of the help desk, the Commissionerate Police said in a release.

The CP directed all the IICs to take swift action on receiving the complaint at the police stations regarding cyber crime.

The residents were asked to inform the help desk/police if anyone receives suspicious phone calls or messages.

The Cyber Fraud Sahayata Desk comprises an official in rank of Sub-Inspector and seven constables to deal with the complaints.
