Cricket betting racket busted in Odisha; 5 held, Rs 4 lakh seized

Rourkela: Busting a cricket betting racket, police arrested five persons and seized over Rs 4 lakh from their possession at Basanti Colony here last night.

Acting on a tip-off, the Uditnagar police raided on a house in Basanti Colony at around 12:30 AM and apprehended the five accused.

The arrested are- kingpin Uma Singh of Udit Nagar, Manprit Singh of Brahmanitarang, and Uttam Sharma, Raju Lodhi and Md Rafique of Rourkela Plant Site area.

Sources said the accused, who are believed to be involved in many betting cases, will be produced before court today.
