Crime Branch busts sex racket in Odisha Capital, four held

Bhubaneswar: The Special task Force (STF) of Crime Branch today arrested four persons for allegedly working as middlemen of a sex racket. The accused are Bidyapati Saha alias Ajaya of Mohiuddinnagar, Bihar; Din Dayal Rao of Kajibazar, Cuttack; Alliuddin Khan of Barahala, Pipili and Sunil Maharana of Mahatabroad, Bhubaneswar.

During the course of investigation into a case, the STF conducted raids at different places of Bhubaneswar and arrested the four persons. Also, the sleuths seized two cars and nine mobile phones from their possession. Five women were rescued from the possession of the four persons while they were trying to hand over the victims to customers.

The four persons were associates of the main accused of a sex racket, Ruksar Begum, Preeti Padhi and Keshab Sahoo. In this case as of now a total of nine persons have been arrested and 14 victims were rescued from the clutch of the traffickers.

The four accused will be forwarded to the court of SDJM, Bhubaneswar, said a statement issued by the Crime Branch.
