‘Crorepati’ Nabarangpur RTO arrested by Odisha Vigilance

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance today arrested Nabarangpur Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Ganeshwar Kanhar for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Following the apprehension, he was forwarded to the Vigilance Court, Jeypore.

A contractual data entry operator had accused the official of taking bribe of Rs 40,000 to regularise his job and a video in this connection had gone viral on social media last month.

On March 6, officers of the anti-corruption agency raided multiple places including his residence, houses and office. Kanhar was found in possession of assets worth over Rs 1.5 crore.
