Crorepati Odisha clerk arrested on DA charges

Cuttack:  Vigilance officials today arrested a senior clerk posted at the Office of Chief Conservator of Forest (Kendu leaf), Cuttack on charges of amassing disproportionate assets amounting to over Rs 1.50 crore.

During raids conducted yesterday, the anti-graft wing found property worth over Rs 3 crore in the name of Dillip Kumar Jena, a native of Ratanpur village under Gandia police limits in Dhenkanal  district. He was staying at Government quarters in Ghatikia under Khandagiri police station in Bhubaneswar.

Property detected during the search drive includes, a triple storied building worth Rs 1.8 crore located at Mallick Complex in Jagmara and gold jewellery, vehicles, cash amounting to over Rs 2 crore.

The disproportionate assets is estimated to be 252 per cent higher than his income. Further investigation is underway, said an official.
