Crorepati school clerk in Odisha Vigilance dragnet

Jajpur: Vigilance sleuths today unearthed assets amounting to over Rs 1.38 crore after simultaneous raids were conducted at four places including residence of junior clerk Prasanna Kumar Routray of a government-run high school in Jajpur district.

Acting on a complaint of having amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, the officials this morning conducted raids at his two residential three-story buildings at Belarpur in Jajpur town, his father-in-law’s house at Charapada village under Rajkanika police limits in Kendrapara district and office room at Angalo High School under Binjharpur police limits in Jajpur district.

During the raids, movable and immovable assets worth Rs 1,38,94,851 were detected by the sleuths.

The assets included two three-story building in Jajpur town – one of estimated value of Rs 26,22,321 and another of Rs 38, 64,074.

Besides, deposits in various banks and post office of Rs 63,58,989, insurance policies of Rs 3,55,594, gold ornaments worth Rs 43,000, Rs 89,620 in cash and household articles of worth 2,59,315 were also detected during the raids.
