Crorepati teacher in Odisha Vigilance net

Vigilance sleuths today detected assets worth over Rs 3 crore following simultaneous raids on the residence of a primary school teacher in Odisha’s Ganjam district.

According to Vigilance sources, the sleuths conducted raids at three places on allegations of possession of disproportionate assets by Dillip Kumar Acharya who works as an Assistant Teacher at Garabaganda primary school under Seragada block in Ganjam district.

The members of the anti-corruption wing from Berhampur Division raided two triple-storied houses at Brahma Nagar, Muktipatha Street near New Bus Stand and a residential house at Gandhi Nagar in Spectrum Colony in Berhampur town. Besides, raid was also conducted at his office room at Garabaganda.

Following the raids, the movable and immovable properties have been estimated over Rs 3.40 crore.

The officials have valued the three-storied building at Brahma Nagar at Rs 1, 24, 05, 500, triple storied building at Muktipatha street at Rs 15, 19, 145, one triple storied building at Gandhi Nagar at Rs 18, 75, 000, medicines worth Rs 93 lakh, household articles at Rs 15, 75, 800, deposit in different banks & Insurance policies worth Rs 63, 48, 587, cost of a car and two motorcycles at Rs 7, 83, 000, cash of Rs 10, 115, gold and silver ornaments Rs. 2, 50, 000.
