‘Crores of money looted from Odisha people will be recovered, this is Modi’s guarantee’

Bhubaneswar: With simultaneous raids by Income Tax (I-T) sleuths still underway for the fourth day on different locations linked to liquor traders in Odisha districts, every single rupee looted from the public will be recovered and this is ‘Modi Guarantee’, said Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today.

“Huge amount of ill-gotten money unearthed in a single day in a state like Odisha following I-T raid by the Central agency is indeed a matter of great concern. Media is abuzz with the alleged involvement of some persons from Odisha, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. What is the source of these illegal assets?” the Minister questioned.

“Such type of incidents were never seen in Odisha beforehand. It needs to be ascertained if the liquor trade in Odisha has any link with the State’s excise policy. The fact behind the ill-gotten money must come to the fore and proper inquiry must be conducted,” the senior BJP leader demanded.

“Some influential persons in Odisha could have links with the ill-gotten money being seized. Why the so-called ‘transparent’ persons are silent these days and are keeping mum? Pradhan further questioned.

The silence of the leaders of a political party has raised suspicion in the minds of commoners in the State. The Union Minister expressed this in a post on his personal ‘X’ handle.
