CRPF ADG calls on Odisha DGP, discusses Maoist issues

Odisha DGP K B Singh today held a high level meeting at his camp office here with CRPF ADG Kuldip Singh on measures to combat Left Wing Extremism (LWE).

The DGP discussed issues like redeployment of central armed forces in the state, intensification of joint combing operations, focus on LWE activities in Rayagada and Malkangiri and protection to police informers.

“Additional DG CRPF made a courtesy call on me today since it was his first visit to Odisha after joining. As we are professionals we discussed some operational matters also, including redeployment of paramilitary forces, joint combing operations in Naxal affected areas, activities of the Naxals in the neighbouring states and how to protect the lives of the civilians especially in Malkangiri and Rayagada area in view of the new incidents,

Notably,  three types of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) are currently deployed in Naxal affected districts in the state which include eight battalions of BSF, eight CRPF and one battalion of Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA).
