CRPF jawan dies by suicide at 127 Battalion in Odisha’s Kandhamal; probe initiated

Baliguda: A jawan of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 127 Battalion allegedly died by suicide late last night in Baliguda town under this police limit of Kandhamal district.

The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Sial, who belonged to Kattakada locality of Kerala.

According to a police source, the jawan took an extreme step and ended his life by hanging inside a toilet in the camp. A towel was seen tied around his neck when he was found hanging.

“However, the exact cause of the jawan’s untimely death can be ascertained only after a post-mortem report comes in and a detailed probe is carried out,” said Baliguda IIC Baba Shankar Saraf.

Baliguda police registered an unnatural death (U/d) case and initiated a probe into the death. Police have sent the jawan’s body to a nearby hospital for post-mortem and a report is awaited.
