Cuttack city reports 32 new COVID-19 cases

Cuttack: As many as 32 persons  in Cuttack city (CMC area) tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours taking  the total count to 398 . Today, the entire district reported 84 new positive cases.

The 32 fresh cases include 21 home quarantine cases, five institutional quarantine cases, five local contacts and one paid quarantine.   All the five institutional quarantine cases, including four females,  are patients and attendants of SCB Medical College and Hospital here.

Besides, the five local contacts include a 11-year-old boy from near Mangala Mandir in Bhagatpur here.

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the city surged to 165. However, 225 patients have recovered from the disease and eight succumbed to the virus.

Active surveillance, contact tracing, and sanitization drive in the concerned areas are underway, said the CMC.
