Cyber fraud: Naba Das’ daughter Dipali loses Rs 1.5 lakh; Case registered

Sambalpur: Dipali Das, daughter of late Odisha minister Naba Das, lost Rs 1.5 lakh as she fell prey to cyber fraud.

Dipali filed a complaint in this regard at the Ainthapali police station in Sambalpur district, on the basis of which a case has been registered under Sections 419 and 420 of the IPC, and 66 (C) and 66 (D) of the IT Act.

As per the complainant, she received two OTPs on her mobile phone on March 6 for transactions not done by her. Suspecting foul play, she didn’t share the OTPs with anyone.

However, two debit transactions– one of Rs 1 lakh and another of Rs 50,000– took place in her bank account on the very day.

Police have started investigation into the incident and efforts were on by cops to identify the wrongdoers.
