Cyclone ‘FANI’: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar contributes Rs. 1 cr to Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In the aftermath of cyclone ‘FANI’, help is pouring into the coastal state of Odisha from all quarters.

If sources are believed, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has extended support to the victims of the cyclone-hit state.

The Khilaadi of Bollywood has donated Rs. 1 crore to Odisha Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in the form of a cheque.

Furthermore, Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama has donated Rs. 10 lakh from the Dalai Lama Trust to aid in restoration and rehabilitation of the state.

Chief Ministers of various states have also declared their support at this time of adversity. While Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has announced aid of Rs. 5 crore, governments of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh have declared Rs. 10 crore assistance to Odisha, each.

Similarly, Rs. 11 crore and Rs. 15 crore have been contributed by the Chief Ministers of Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh, separately.
