Cyclone ‘FANI’: Death toll rises to 35 in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The state government estimation has calculated the number of human casualties in Odisha caused by Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm ‘FANI’ to be 35, as of yesterday.

Death toll reported in Puri is 21, while Mayurbhanj and Jajpur reported four deaths each.

Similarly, three deaths due to the storm were also reported in Cuttack and Kendrapara, each.

As per a Situation Report released by the Office of the Special Relief Commissioner, 155 blocks in 14 districts have faced the wrath of the cyclone.

The devastation caused by ‘FANI’ has affected 16,074 villages and population of about 1,40,60,602.
