Cyclone FANI in Odisha: PM Modi announces ex-gratia

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who today conducted an aerial survey of areas affected by cyclonic storm FANI in Odisha, announced ex-gratia for the kin of the deceased and victims.

Modi announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs to next of the kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to seriously injured ones in the cyclone.

He also announced immediate assistance of Rs 1000 crores for the cyclone-hit state. He promised of further assistance after assessment by an inter-ministerial Central team.

The PM assured that a Central team will visit the State soon to assess the extent of damage to infrastructure, housing, fishermen and farms.
