Cyclone FANI: Relief distribution in Bhubaneswar from tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will conduct distribution of relief materials in 67 wards of the cyclone FANI-hit city from tomorrow, informed BMC Additional Commissioner Rajendra Kumar Patnaik today.

Each family covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) in the city will be provided 50 kg of rice, Rs 2,000 financial assistance and Rs 500 to purchase polythene sheets, the official said.

The families will be identified by RIs and Anganwadi workers, he said.

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had announced that all families covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) in extremely severely affected districts of Puri and parts of Khurda will get 50 kg of rice, Rs 2000 and polythene sheets.
