Cyclone FANI: Sambad Group donates Rs 50 lakh to relief fund

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s No 1 media conglomerate ‘Sambad Group’ today extended financial aid to cyclone FANI victims in the state.

The leading media house contributed Rs 50 lakh to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).

A cheque of Rs 50 lakh was presented to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at state secretariat here.

Sambad Group Managing Director Monica Nayyar Patnaik, Executive Director Tanaya Patnaik, and COO Kamalakanta Dash presented the cheque to the Chief Minister.

The worst-ever cyclonic storm in the recent times had claimed over 60 lives across districts and damaged properties to the estimated tune of around Rs 12000 crore.

On the other hand, Sambad Group in association with Navaratna CPSE Nalco today distributed relief material to affected people in Puri and its outskirts.

Sambad Group Executive Director Tanaya Patnaik distributed the packets containing ready-to-eat food materials and other necessary things to the victims. The relief materials were distributed among slum dwellers in Baliapanda, Lokanath Road, near Gadadhar School, Jagannath Ballav, Nilachakra Nagar, Chari Nala and Gada Rodhanga.

Five teams comprising staff of Sambad Group visited several affected villages in Puri district for relief distribution. Under active supervision of ‘Sambad’ CGM (News) Arabinda Das, COO Kamalakanta Dash and DGM (HRD) Baijayanti Kar, the philanthropic activity was carried out.
