Cyclone Mandous: Rainfall likely in south Odisha districts on Dec 10, 11

Bhubaneswar: Several districts of south Odisha are likely to experience rainfall on December 10 and 11 under the influence of forecasted Cyclone ‘Mandous’ over the Bay of Bengal.

The system will not have any direct impact on the state.

Light rain very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kalahandi , Kandhamal and Nabarangpur on December 10, the Regional Meteorological Centre here predicted.

“The Deep Depression over Southwest and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal is very likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify further gradually into a Cyclonic Storm around 07th December evening and reach Southwest Bay of Bengal off north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry & adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts by 08th December morning. It will continue to move west-northwestwards towards north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry & adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts during subsequent 48 hours,” the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its bulletin issued this noon.
