Cyclone Yaas: Movement of vehicles prohibited on Chandikhole-Balasore stretch on NH-16

Jajpur: In view of the impending Cyclone Yaas, Jajpur district administration prohibited movement of vehicles on the National Highway-16 that passed through the district.

As there are chances of road accidents due to strong wind caused by the very severe cyclonic storm Yaas, the district administration has decided not to allow vehicular movement on the NH-16 from Chandikhole towards Balasore, informed Jajpur District Collector Chakravarti Singh Rathore.

The prohibition order for vehicular movement will remain in force from midnight of May 25 till 12 noon of May 26.

However, vehicles providing emergency services will be allowed to ply on the NH-16 from Chandikhole towards Balasore.

Worth mentioning, the India Meteorological Department has predicted the very severe cyclonic storm Yaas over Bay of Bengal is likely to make landfall close to north of Dhamra and south of Balasore during noon of May 26.
