Cyclone Yaas: People affected due to high tide to get free food in Odisha’s Bhadrak

Bhadrak: Extending helping hand for people moved from their houses due to high tide caused by very severe cyclonic storm Yaas in coastal district of Bhadrak, the administration will provide cooked/dry food to the victims.

“Wherever the total storm surge has forced seawater to enter villages and people have no way of cooking, these people are to be provided cooked/dry food for a period of 3 days,” an order by Bhadrak Collector stated today.

The Collector directed the Basudevpur and Chandbali BDOs to ensure that not a single person suffers from non-availability of food during the period of disaster.

The low lying areas of Chandbali and Basudevpur blocks in the district were inundated with seawater due to tidal wave of height upto 1-2 meter during the period Cyclone Yaas hit the Odisha coast in the morning today.

The residents fled their houses out the fear after the seawater entered into their villages.
