Cyclonic circulation: Heavy rainfall warning for Odisha till Sept 21

Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall is likely to occur many places in Odisha today and next four days under influence of cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal.

According to Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, the cyclonic circulation over Eastcentral & adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal now lies over Northwest & adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal and extends between 1.5 km & 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with
height. It is very likely to move towards Odisha coasts during next 12 hours.

The cyclonic circulation may bring moderate to heavy rainfall for several places across the districts till September 22 from today.

The MeT issued yellow warning for many districts of Odisha till September 21.

Sept 18:

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of North Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of South Odisha.

Yellow warning: 1. Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak.

2. Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput.

Sept 19:

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Puri, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh.

Sept 20:

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha.

Yellow warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sonepur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Deogarh.

Sept 21:

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Bolangir.

Sept 22:

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at
a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha.

Warning: NIL

The weather in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar cities is likely to be partly cloudy sky with possibility of moderate rain or thundershowers during next 24 hours.
