Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation is likely to form over northwest Bay of Bengal within 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its morning bulletin today.
Rainfall activity is likely to increase in the state due to the system.
The Regional Meteorological Centre here has issued rainfall warning for several districts of the state.
Below is day-wise forecast in this regard.
July 18: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangapur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam and Puri.
July 19: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangapur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack.
July 20: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Kandhamal.
Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Bargarh and Kalahandi.
July 21: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Puri, Angul, Jajpur, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Bargarh.
Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Nuapada and Nabarangapur.
