Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation is likely to form over eastcentral Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours with chances of intensification, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its morning bulletin today.
Under the influence of the system, a low pressure area is likely to form over eastcentral Bay of Bengal off Myanmar coast during the subsequent 24 hours, the agency said.
"A cyclonic circulation is likely to emerge over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal & adjoining north Andaman Sea off Myanmar coast during next 24 hours. Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal off Myanmar coast during subsequent 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move northwestwards with possibility of gradual intensification," the IMD said.
On the other hand, the Regional Meteorological Centre here has issued Yellow Warning for several districts of the state for today in connection with thunderstorm.
Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore, it predicted.
