Bhubaneswar: An upper air cyclonic circulation is likely to form over north Bay of Bengal around September 18, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted today.
Prediction regarding further movement and intensity of the system was yet to be made by the agency.
On the other hand, the depression over south Chhattisgarh and adjoining southeast Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha weakened into a well-marked low pressure area over southeast Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood, this morning.
It is likely to move nearly northwestwards across Madhya Pradesh during the next 48 hours, the IMD said in its bulletin this afternoon.
With Odisha being battered by the depression with heavy rainfall during the last two days, formation of fresh cyclonic circulation/ low pressure area may worsen the situation in the state.
