Czech national denied hotel room in Odisha Capital due to COVID-19

Bhubaneswar: Authorities of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today rescued a tourist named Petr from Czech Republic who had come to Odisha and had been visiting places of tourist interest in the State since January 14, 2020.

Reportedly, he had no place to stay and had been putting up at IG Park since the last two days as private hotels were apprehensive to grant him shelter in the wake of COVID-19 outbreaks.

Petr was found in distress in Indira Gandhi Park area today morning. On the direction of BMC Commissioner, Prem Chandra Choudhury the officials of BMC rescued the foreign national and arranged for his stay and food on government costs at BMC Yatri Niwas for the day.

Petr will be leaving for Kolkata today night and subsequently to Czech Republic on March 25, 2020.

Earlier in the day, a foreign national from Europe, who is in Bhubaneswar since January, shifted from a hotel in IRC Village under Nayapalli PS to Yatri Niwas in view of coronavirus outbreak.
