D Prakash Rao in ICU as condition deteriorates due to COVID-19

Cuttack: Tea-seller and renowned social worker Padma Shri D Prakash Rao undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College & Hospital after being infected with the COVID-19 is currently in ICU of the State-run hospital in Cuttack.

He is under treatment in an intensive care unit (ICU) after his health condition deteriorated, informed Dr Jayant Panda, who is heading a team of doctors constituted for treatment of veteran social worker.

It is pertinent to mention that Gajapati Collector Anupam Saha and Padma Shri D Prakash Rao were admitted to the SCB Hospital on December 25 after they tested positive for COVID-19.

While Saha has been shifted to a cabin after his health condition improved during treatment, Rao went to the ICU.

A team of doctors comprising of Dr Jayant Panda (Medicine), Dr Jyoti Patnaik (Pulmonary), Dr Bidyut Das (HoD, Rheumatology), Dr Umesh Patra (HoD, Hepatology), Dr RK Jena (HoD, Hematology) and Dr Satyanarayan Routray (HoD, Cardiology) is engaged for treatment of two eminent persons at the hospital.
