Dacoit nabbed in Odisha’s Rourkela; stolen goods seized

Rourkela, May 18:

Brahmani Tarang police in Odisha’s Rourkela today arrested a hardcore dacoit and forwarded him to court for stealing a  number of bikes, looting houses and snatching.


The dacoit, identified as Michel Singh (28), is a resident of Ward No-9 of Rourkela’s Malgodam road.

The cops have seized five bikes, one pistol, one live bullet and a gold chain from him.

“As many as 17 cases had been registered against him in different police stations in Rourkela, including four in Brahmani Tarang police station and one each case in Kutra and Rajgangpur for robbery, snatching, stealing bikes and looting houses,” said U Pradhan, IIC of Brahmani Tarang police station.

“Police had been searching for him for sometime. Acting on a tip-off, Brahmani Tarang police nabbed Singh from Vedvyas area while he was coming on a bike on Sunday evening. He was arrested on Monday. Police seized five bikes, one pistol, one live bullet and one gold chain from him. He has been forwarded to court on this afternoon,” said TK Jena DSP Zone II of Rourkela while addressing a press meet at Brahmani Tarang police station today.
