Daily COVID cases in Odisha nears 800-mark; highest 147 infections in Sundargarh

Bhubaneswar: In a huge spike in COVID-19 cases in Odisha, as many as 791 cases were detected in the state during the last 24 hours, official sources said today.

Out of the 791 cases, 459 were detected in quarantine while 332 are local contact cases. With this, the COVID-19 tally in the state mounted to 344647 with 4255 active cases.

Sundargarh reported the highest number of cases as 147 more persons in the district contracted the virus.

A total of 31531 samples were tested in Odisha, yesterday.
