Dama equates BJP’s surge in Odisha panchayat polls with dengue

Odisha Sun Times Bureau
Bhubaneswar, Feb 16:

Senior BJD leader Damodar Rout who is much sought after by media persons for his quotes and anecdotes today compared BJP’s gains in the last two rounds of the ensuing three-tier panchayat polls in the state to that of dengue.

Rout said it doesn’t cause death if it’s treated timely.

“BJP’s gain in the panchayat polls is like dengue. It doesn’t cause death if it’s treated timely,” said Rout.

The senior BJD leader informed that his party would go for a review and push BJP to where it was.

“Let the election be completed. We will do a review. BJP will go back to its earlier position,” Rout stated.

The senior BJD leader, a known critic of the bureaucracy today indirectly hinted at bureaucrats running his party’s affairs.

Rout said: “In the event of decisions being taken by a person not having experience similar to that of a bureaucrat and if that decision is implemented in the party such situations arise. Whether it has happened due to him or for some other reason will be only known after a review.”

It may be noted here that Rout had yesterday told the media about his suspicion over some of his party leaders joining hands with BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan to sabotage the prospects of BJD.
