Dama Rout’s new party to fight against corruption, misrule in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Former Minister and expelled BJD leader Damodar Rout today reiterated his claim on forming a new political party soon.

Speaking to media, Rout said the new party will fight against corruption, gross injustice and misrule in the State. The party will follow the principles and ideologies of veteran leader late Biju Patnaik. However, the ex-BJD leader denied possibility of an alliance with any other political party.

A meeting will be held on the matter on November 9 and 10, following which a formal announcement would be made at a press meet on November 11 and 12, Rout informed.

He further alleged that the State government is against formation of a new regional party and trying to create dissension among the leaders who are keen to join him.

It may be mentioned here that Dama was expelled from BJD by party supremo Naveen Patnaik on September 12, a day after hundreds of party workers belonging to Balikuda-Erasama Assembly Constituency met the CM demanding Rout’s ouster alleging ‘anti-party activities’
