Day & Night temperatures very likely to rise in Odisha districts from April 2 onwards

Bhubaneswar: With cyclonic circulation over north Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood at 0.9 Km above mean sea level becoming less marked, Maximum (day) temperature and Minimum (night) temperature are very likely to rise in several Odisha districts from April 2 onwards, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

Due to anticipated rise in maximum temperature, presence of high humidity in the atmosphere, hot & humid weather conditions are very likely to prevail across the State from 2nd to 6th April, 2024. People are advised to take precautionary measures for hot & humid weather conditions while going outside in peak hours of the day (around 1100 Hrs to 1500 Hrs IST) during the mentioned period.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “Maximum temperatures observed appreciable rise at one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were above normal at a few places over the districts of Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. Minimum temperatures observed appreciable fall at one or two places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha and North Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were markedly below normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, appreciably above normal at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: Maximum temperature is very likely to fall by 3°C to 4°C during the next 24 hours and rise by 4°C to 5°C at many places in subsequent two days and no large change thereafter over the districts of Odisha. No large change in Minimum temperature during next two days and a gradual rise by 2°C to 3°C at many places in subsequent three days over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum (day) temperature of 41.0°C was recorded at Malkangiri and the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 20.0°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Boudh, Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kendrapara, Nabarangpur and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

For Monday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 01.04.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 02.04.2024)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
