Deadline for affixing HSRPs extended in Odisha

Cuttack: The Transport department of Odisha has once again extended the deadline for affixing High Security Registration Plates (HSRPs) on vehicles registered prior to April 1, 2019 by a month.

HSRPs shall be fitted on all vehicles carrying Odisha registration marks and numbers, registered prior to April 1, 2019, by February, 2023, said the state Transport Authority (STA) today.

The revised deadline for fitment of HSRPs on vehicles with registration numbers ending with 1,2,3 and 4 is November 30. The previous deadline for these vehicles was October 31.

Similarly, the deadline for vehicles with registration numbers ending with 5 and 6 has been extended to December 31. The Transport department had earlier fixed November 30 as the deadline for these vehicles.

The new deadline for vehicles with registration numbers ending with 7 and 8 is January 31, 2023. The earlier deadline for these vehicles was December 31, 2022, said the State Transport Authority.

The deadline for vehicles with registration numbers ending with 9 and 0 has been extended to February 28, 2023. The earlier deadline for these vehicles was January 31, 2023, said the STA.

Notably, the Transport department had earlier extended the deadline for affixing HSRPs on vehicles by a month in September this year.

It is worth mentioning here that the STA had earlier asked people to visit Mo Seva Kendras for booking slots to affix HSRPs on their vehicles.

“Now, vehicle owners can apply for HSRPs in the nearby Mo Seva Kendras as per their convenience. Till now, vehicle owners were booking their slots by visiting online portal—www.siam.in. The facility has now been extended to Mo Seva Kendras for the benefit of people residing in remote areas and having poor knowledge of technology,” said the STA.
