The online registration process had begun from September 23 and was scheduled to end today. The Board authorities today extended the online registration till October 19 midnight.

“The deadline for online registration of Class-IX students, who would be appearing for annual HSC examinations in 2017, has been extended by 10 days. The process will now continue till the midnight of October 19,” BSE president Dakshya Prasad Nanda informed the media today.

Notably, more than 6 lakh students appear in the annual HSC examinations every year. The online registration system was introduced to eliminate errors in filling up of the forms manually.

Filling up forms manually also involved heavy expenditure on correcting and reprinting certificates. With the introduction of the e-registration system, the BSE aims at minimising the cost factor.

The enrolment was carried out in every high school with internet facility. Besides, enrolment was also done at centres selected by the District Education Officer (DEO) for those who had no Internet connectivity. The schools were provided with individual user IDs and passwords for accessing the enrolment page on the BSE website.

The centres were also given options to enroll their names at e-Vidyalayas, Block Resource Centre Coordinator (BRCC) offices, DEO offices, District Project Coordinator (DPC) offices, government ST schools and District Institute for Education and Training (DIET) offices.

The students will have to deposit Rs 40 as fees in a bank through the computerised pay-in slips for online registration. For general information and step-by-step information on filling up the forms, students can access www.bseodisha.nic.in and www.prestigeresults.in.

The BSE has launched a helpline number – 0671-2432801 – to help the students know the details of the enrolment process. It has also set up a helpdesk which will be available between 8 am and 8 pm to respond to the students’ queries.
