Justice B P Das Commission of Inquiry constituted by the Odisha government to recommend reforms in Sri Jagannath temple (Sri Mandir) today extended the deadline from November 4 to December 4 for submission of affidavits from the general public with regard to suggestions and opinions on reforms in the temple.

“Since we have received very less number of affidavits from the public, we have extended the deadline by a month till December 4 for receiving such affidavits,” informed Justice Das to reporters.

The Commission of Inquiry has also directed Puri Collector to provide information on ritual disturbance and encroachment of temple lands, official sources said.

It has further directed the Collector to provide information on steps taken for smooth darshan of the Lords by the devotees, the sources added.

This apart the Commission of Inquiry has directed the district’s Superintendent of Police to provide information on criminal activities in the town, the sources revealed.

The Commission has put up drop boxes at all District Collector offices in the state, Sub-Collector's office in Bhubaneswar and at its office to receive affidavits in connection with Sri Jagannath temple reform.
