Deceased COVID warrior medico accorded guard of honour in Odisha’s Rourkela

Rourkela: Dr Priyashree (29), a 2nd year PG student of Ispat General Hospital (IGH) in Odisha’s Rourkela, who died of COVID-19 two days ago was accorded guard of honour here today.

Her younger brother Abhinav Ranjan conducted the last rites at Vedvyas here. Rourkela MLA Sarada Prasad Nayak and other dignitaries paid tribute to the departed COVID warrior.

Hailing from Nalanda district in Bihar, Priyashree was pursuing Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Surgery and was treating Covid-19 patients at the hospital.

As she tested positive for the virus, she was admitted to the IGH on September 22. She was then shifted to the Hi-Tech Covid Hospital and later to JP Hospital, where she breathed her last during treatment on October 16.
