Decomposed body recovered from Mahanadi River bank in Odisha

Boudh: A highly decomposed body of an unidentified person has been recovered from the Mahanadi River bank in Boudh district today.

The Boudh police recovered the human skeleton, which was half-charred, surrounded by crows under an under-construction bridge over the Mahanadi River in the morning today.

The person is presumed to be dead a week ago. The prima facie suggested that the body remained the half-burnt during cremation and subsequently, it was swept away in the strong current of the water, informed Boudh Police Station IIB Tapaswini Kahanr.

The decomposed body has been sent for autopsy. If the post-mortem of the body was done before, it will be revealed from the skull portion. The reason of death will be clear following the post-mortem, she said.
