Elephant carcass found in Odisha’s Dhenkanal; probe begins

Dhenkanal: The carcass of an elephant in a highly decomposed state was recovered from a forest near Mahabirod Kuturia village in Dhenkanal district today.

According to reports, some locals first spotted the decomposed carcass in the forest this morning and immediately called up police. On being informed, police along with the forest officials reached the spot and initiated an inquiry.

Forest officials said purportedly, the pachyderm died a month back; however, the exact cause behind its death is yet to be ascertained.
