Deep Depression: 70 kmph gusty wind likely to hit these Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: Under the influence of the deep depression over Bay of Bengal, as many as three districts of Odisha are likely to experience gusty wind of 70 kmph speed today, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted.

Squally wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph likely to occur in Bhadrak, Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts today.

The IMD has also issued wind warning for other districts of Odisha for today and tomorrow.

August 19:

* Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Puri, Khordha, Ganjam, and Keonjhar: Squally wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph.

* Dhenkanal, Nayagarh and Gajapati: Squally wind speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph.

August 20:

* Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj: Squally wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph.

* Jajpur, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Khordha, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh and Jharsuguda: Squally wind speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph.

The IMD has also issued Red Warning and Orange Warning for several districts of Odisha for today in view of the Deep Depression.

Red Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir and Jajpur.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khordha, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri and Puri.
