Bhubaneswar, Jun 16:

Inordinate delay in the announcement of results of all India entrance tests has triggered panic among the students in Odisha.

While the results of different all India entrance tests are yet to be announced, authorities of the deemed universities in the state have come up with a final list of students for admission, which will be completed by June 25.

Though the results of the OJEE, JEE and OUAT entrance tests have been announced, the process of admission is yet to begin.

Besides, students, who had appeared in the AIPMT, are frustrated as the Supreme Court has scrapped the results and asked the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to conduct a fresh test within four weeks. However, the Board has expressed its inability to conduct the test within such a short period.

The students, who have to sit for the AIPMT again, are not sure of the date for announcement of the result.

Due to the inordinate delay in the announcement of results, some students have taken admission in the deemed universities by depositing hefty fees running into lakhs of rupees.

As the results of the all India entrance tests are expected to be announced after resumption of classes in these deemed universities, students, who have taken admission in these universities and are expected to clear the entrance test, will be in further trouble as these deemed universities, as per rules, will not refund them the admission fee once they begin the orientation programme.

Apprehending such possibilities, the students have urged the state government to announce the results of the entrance tests like OJEE, JEE and OUAT, which are conducted under its direct supervision, with immediate effect.

Besides, they have also urged the state government for parallel conduct of entrance tests and admission process.
