Bhubaneswar: Distributors concerned ought to deliver the LPG cylinders to consumers within 48 hours of booking, insisted Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra. The Minister said this in a high-level meeting with different petrol, diesel, and LPG distributors today.

Minister Patra emphasised the interests of the consumers focusing on good quality and adequate quantity. All organisations dealing in petroleum products must cordially behave with consumers, he advised.

Any dealer or distributor found to have violated the norms will stringently be punished, the Minister warned.

Minister Patra also directed the Department officials to ensure regular inspections across the State to prevent blackmarketing and adulteration of petroleum products.

Several senior officials of the Department, Odisha unit representatives of nationalised oil companies, office bearers of Utkal petroleum dealers’ associations, and different distributors’ outfits took part in the discussion. The meeting was held at the conference hall of Odisha State Civil Supply Corporation (OSCSC) Limited in Nayapalli locality in Bhubaneswar.
