Demand for HC Bench: Lawyers to gherao Odisha Assembly tomorrow  

Bhubaneswar: To intensify their long-standing demand for setting up of a permanent Bench of the Orissa High Court (HC), lawyers of Bolangir district will gheao the state Assembly tomorrow.

Lawyers under the banner of Bolangir District Bar Association will stage a mass demonstration before the Assembly followed by a protest meeting tomorrow. Representatives of Joint Action Committee and several other organisations will join the protest.

“Despite our repeated demands, the state Government has not paid any heed to our just demand. Hence, we decided to gherao the Assembly tomorrow to put pressure on the Government for the same,”said a member of the district bar association.

Newly-elected people’s representatives of the district have also been urged to join the protest, he added
