Demand raised to make ‘Tulasi Apa’ tax free in Odisha

Following Bollywood biopic on cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar was made tax free in Odisha, the cine lovers demanded the state government to declare first Odia biopic ‘Tulasi Apa’ tax free.

Demands were made on social media sites in favour of making Tulasi Apa tax free in Odisha theatres for the audience.

While the ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ was made tax free by the government, the regional film on noted social activist Padma Shri Tulasi Munda should be declared the tax free. People will be able to watch such a positive and inspiring film at low cost in various regions of the state if the government axes the entertainment tax of the film, said the cine lovers on social media.

Tulasi Apa – a movie by Amiya Patnaik productions was released on May 19 across Odisha. The film produced by debutant producer Anupam Patnaik is based on true story of veteran social activist and Padma Shri Tulasi Munda, her struggle for making tribal children educated and fight against social evils.
