Dense fog blankets Odisha’s twin cities, cold wave continues

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack woke up to a foggy morning today as dense fog blanketed the area amid bone-chilling cold wave conditions.

Vehicular movement was partially affected in the two cities due to reduced visibility owing to thick fog. Situation was similar in Puri and Rourkela, reports said.

Regional Meteorological Centre forecasted that foggy weather conditions will continue in several parts of the state for the next 3-4 days.” Shallow to moderate fog likely to occur at a few places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Koraput during the next 3-4 days,” the Meteorological Centre said.

On the other hand, cold wave conditions continued across the state today as four places recorded minimum temperature below 10 degree Celsius. Lowest temperature of the day was registered in Sonepur (7.4), followed by Daringbadi (9 ), Titlagarh (9.1 ) and Angul (9.6).
