Dense fog in Delhi, 65 trains delayed

New Delhi, Dec 24:

Delhi witnessed dense fog in the morning Wednesday that delayed at least 65 trains and led to the cancellation of four others.

An official of the Northern Railway said at least 57 trains coming to the city were running late, while eight trains departing from the national capital were rescheduled due to dense fog. Four trains have been cancelled, the official added.

The Met officials said the visibility at 8.30 a.m. was 150 meters.

The minimum temperature settled three notches below the season’s average at 5.3 degrees Celsius.

Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 97 percent.

The Met office has forecast a chilly day in the city.

“There was a dense fog in the morning, but the day will be mainly clear,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The day’s maximum temperature is likely to hover around 16.3 degrees Celsius.

Tuesday’s minimum temperature settled at 6 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season’s average, while the maximum was 16.3 degrees Celsius, five notches below the season’s average. (IANS)
