Dense fog envelops Odisha; poor visibility hits road traffic

Bhubaneswar: A  thick blanket of fog today enveloped several parts of Odisha, including the Twin City of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

Vehicular movement was disrupted at many places due to poor visibility.

As per MeT sources, the visibility plummeted to as low as 25 metre in Chandbali, 50 metre in Paradip and 100 metre in Cuttack. Besides, Balasore, Nayagarh and Baripada recorded 400, 500 and 700 metre visibility, respectively.

The visibility recorded in the capital city was 800 metre.

“In Bhubaneswar, dense fog was witnessed in Nandankanan area while shallow fog prevailed in Airport area this morning. The visibility was 800 metre in Airport area at 7 AM today,” said a weatherman.

Dense fog will be witnessed during morning hours for next three days due to presence of high moisture in the atmosphere. Weather will mostly remain dry for next few days, he added.
