Depression over Bay of Bengal intensifies; Cyclone alert for Odisha coast

Bhubaneswar: Depression over the Bay of Bengal intensified into Deep Depression. The IMD issued Cyclone alert for Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coasts as the system is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm in next 12 hours.

Based of IMD input, the Special Relief Commissioner talked to all concerned collectors to get prepared for possible heavy rainfall and consequential flooding, waterlogging, landslides and damages due to strong wind.

The low pressure had formed over the Bay of Bengal yesterday. It further intensified into Depression in a few hours.
